This is a special type of technology that can concentrate signal stronger in directions of connected devices as opposed to just radiating a signal evenly in a 360 horizontal pattern. This enabled better throughput through walls and other obstacles.
Extremely robust, very good quality, rarely seen any other better wifi than this. very well built & working extremely above expectations.
awesome wifi adapter for the price..
cons / pros:
Pros:
1. its extremely extremely EXTREMELY high gain. before i only saw 3 or max 5 wi-fi in my neighborhood. And now- with this: (even *3* of the antennas D.E.T.A.T.C.H.E.D) i now see a minimum of maybe 35 or 50 networks. max 125. NETWORKS! (Wi-Fi's!)
2. extremely well built. hardend, very robust deisgn. and also very cool & hard(possitivly har- not uncomfortable. absolutely not.) to the touch.
3. extremely well priced.
cons:
Not much to write here- there only thing i WISH i knew before purchase was if it was supported with a raspberry pi. It maybe is- probably also is. But i haven't got mine to work. (mine raspberry is a kali install)
but a sum up:
highly recommend for ANY wireless purpose.
extremely recommend for pen-testers. (Kali linux, etc. etc.)
I treid to convert this to bluetooth (using Debian- somehow) and it works extremely well too.Read full review
Attached to my home office docking station for my Win10 laptop. Laptop internal 2.4G dual N connected pushing 600 Mbps and this one connected to the 5G at the same time! This one pushing 1.3Gps!! N connection ties all peripheral like printers, etc.. AC connection pushes 4k to monitor from internet. Just freaking Wicked fast! Disconnected and took with me to industrial jobsite where getting a signal is always sketchy. This monster locked on and began ripping data up and down with ease! Think of it like a tool. When you want to smash poor connections, this is a 20lb sledge hammer! The speed is truly off the hook!
Great adapter, super high speed, and Linux friendly
Very good product. I used to pick up about 4 networks on my stock wifi card, now i get about 25-30. Yes it does work with Kali Linux in monitor mode, and supports packet injection. just search google or youtube to see how to get it working properly.
Awus1900 is an excellent WiFi adapter. It does not work with Linux out of the box - you need to find and install rtl8814au driver first, but once done - it works fantastically well. Super good signal, USB3 connection. Very satisfied.
