First, to get my only issue(s) out of the way. I find there is a slight buzz/vibration on the open E, and it doesn't seem to happen every time...hmmm, not sure what's up with that?. The other is the Expression System 2...not that crazy about it....seems .....messy......and all over the place, I haven't been able to tame it yet.( My reason for a 4 out of 5) Now for playing, this thing is just plan fun. Easy to play and loves finger picking...put a capo on this thing and it just purrs all the way up the fretboard. It looks great and very comfortable due to it's size (my main buying decision....back issues) It also comes with a Taylor Hard gig bag, very nice. This is my first Taylor and a great first impression..... I would recommend this instrument hands down

Great sound for it's size. Playability is good. The dull finish was a little disappointing. Looks cheap !!!

Don't expect this to have the sound of your full size Taylor. But with that said, I love this guitar. It has a much fuller sound than the previous Baby Taylors had. Plus, this has the same pickup as my Taylor 810e and sounds amazing through my fishman amp. I debated between the Koa and the other with Spruce top and rosewood. (the Sapele and rosewood with spruce tops had identical sounds). in the end I chose the Koa simply because I loved the look. You can go to youtube to hear differences in the tone. It also surprisingly sounds good using a capo. I bought a Thalia Koa capo which matches perfectly, along with a custom Koa "Jesus fish" truss rod cover.

This is is a travel-sized guitar that sounds and plays like a much bigger guitar. The solid mahogany top gives a little warmer tone than the spruce top GS mini. It has a short 23 1/2 inch scale length (so less string tension) but a normal size fretboard so it's really easy to play. It is small bodied so it is really comfortable for the couch and easily transported. A real winner! It has quickly become one of my favorites.

I have several nice high end guitars and was looking for a travel mini mainly because I have small hands. This GS mini is a perfect size guitar for my needs,it plays like a full size guitar, sounds amazing right out of the box and very easy to play. I don't even use my other guitars, this is my go to for everthing guitar, plug it in and even more amazing...I thought $600.00 was a bit pricey but when it arrived and I unboxed it ,the look alone blew me away, just a all around awesome looking, playing, sounding little guitar...i'm thinking of buying all three versions I like it that much..buy it,you will not be disappointed. ...

I had a chance to play one at NAMM and had to have one. I have a lot of Guitar's/basses from $8500.00 to $2000.00 cost, but I just had to add this one. So fun, and not just a toy!

The GS Mini is an amazing guitar. It's so much fun to keep out in the living room or to take on trips. It sounds much bigger than its size and plays like a real guitar, not a travel guitar. The ES2 does a great job reproducing sound and this guitar can be used for any size gig plugged in. The gig bag is very rigid, almost like a hard shell, and provides great protection. I don't worry about the guitar even with my 1 year old son around.

It is here and have just gotten it warmed up and humidified so that no strings or anything would break. Two hours in the box before opening. It has been very cold past few days and a very warm day today. Relative humidity is only 27% in the house. Have the humidifiers going since I got home. It’s tuned up nice now and plays like a sweet songbird. It’s a very good guitar if it sounds sweet with both blues or jazz. Love the mellow tone with finger style the best. Happy I was able to finally get the Taylor gs mahogany I wanted before I bought the Martin Jr. I will enjoy them both. Thank you for the excellent packing that was done and anticipating needs prior to shipping.

The Taylor GS- Mini is the ultimate travel guitar. Although it is smaller than a full-sized guitar, the GS Mini does not sacrifice quality in terms of tone, sound, and playability. The solid Mahogany top produces rich sound which makes it fun to play. The neck is slightly shorter, but the width is sufficient so your fingers are not cramped by smaller space. Taylor makes the best travel guitar and you'll find yourself playing this one over and over for hours and hours. You can't go wrong with this guitar!
