Pros: Top quality, safe and fast. 5 year warranty. Cons: none Crucial belongs to the Micron family which has been in the memory business since 1978 and has been recognized throughout the years for delivering top quality memories. I've been using a Crucial SSD in my laptop for 5 years now and it just flies compared to any hard drive. Within Crucial offerings, the BX line is good, the MX line is just better. I've had bad experiences with some other brands. Now, I stick with Crucial MX (Samsung EVO might be a good alternative but is usually more expensive).

I have just replaced an aging 1TB WD Blue hard drive on a 5yo HP Pavilion Slimline desktop with this drive. Once Windows 10 was installed, the sluggishness of the old drive was long gone. Just about everything is faster with this drive. This SSD will give new life to an aging desktop or laptop without requiring you to buy a brand new computer. Just get it and install it correctly for best results.

So far so good, time will tell. I have used several brand SSD drives and all have worked well so I dont suspect I will have trouble with this unit.Other reviewers reported best results with Crucial memory products.

Crucial has been a great product for some time, and it has beaten Intel and Western Digital not only in pricing, but manufacturer warranty and product integrity. I've used an Intel SSD in the past, and the warranty is only 3 years versus Crucial's 5 year warranty, and the price for the Intel SSD at the time was $229 (and is now listed as a higher price. This Crucial SSD was listed at $124.95. Definitely a better deal, and the overall quality of this product has better ratings than the Intel unit. The rest speaks for itself.

Other than having to download some software online to clone and partition the SSD, it was fairly easy upgrading. Since my hard drive had a larger capacity and over 500Gigs used, I had to move a bunch a files on to another drive in order to begin cloning to the SSD. Once cloning was done to the SSD, I just formatted my 2T hard drive and moved all the files back and use it as my secondary drive. Now my computer boots in seconds and applications also pop up in seconds running much smoother.

My computer operations system has improved greatly since installing the SSD. The system is quieter, and startup is almost immediate. If you're looking for an upgrade from an HDD or just an SSD upgrade, I recommend this product. It was also easy to install.

Replaced an older Samsung 840 128GB SSD (needed more space). The Crucial is actually faster to boot, usually in about 15 seconds (Win 10 Pro). Was a bit leery about using the "free" cloning software, backed everything up just in case, then followed the instruction on the Acronis website but, as others had noted, It won't find the drive if you connected as an external USB drive. Found an extra SATA cable from my build 8 years ago, connected, used Disk Manager to format and prep the drive. Was prepared for a multi-hour ordeal.....finished in 6 minutes! Swapped the drives, rebooted, and ended up on a 10 minute journey as it booted to Win 7 on my internal 1TB HDD backup drive. Rebooted to the BIOS, corrected the primary boot sequence (would have done that first if I had known). TADA! Everything is smooth sailing so far.Read full review

Arrived on time, was easy to install (I 3D printed an adapter so I could install this in a standard 3.5" drive bay) and it ran just fine on first boot up after installing the operating system (Windows 10 Pro) Being solid state instead of mechanical, the operating life should be quite a bit longer. Crucial's website has some nice additional software available for it as well.
