This LokProgrammer is very handy when you want to work with you lokSound decoders to have different sound effects for different locos. It's also very helpful when you want to change CV's change CV's of regular decoders. Much easier compared to doing it on your DCC control cab. The set came with a serial to USB conversion cable and power adaptor. Power adaptor is 110V-240V self adaptable which is great for use in different countries. The Serial to USB cable is easy to use enough but the conversion part makes the cable pretty bulky and rigid. The conversion circuitry could be intergrated with the main board and just give the user a USB interface. Overall a great product!

There is a little bit of learning curve when you first start to program LOK Decoders but the documentation is good plus there is plenty of help on the web. It was very easy to set up and in very little time I had programmed by first decorder. I have my programming track in my office where I have large monitors so it was easier to use my office for programming decoders here than near the layout where I have a small laptop running JMRI.

Very easy to use to reprogram any ESU LokSound decoder. plug a few cords in, download the software from their website, connect it to a piece of track and you're ready to go! Comes with everything needed to start using right out of the box and is easily set up to go in mere minutes. only downside is that changing the horns and bell's in the programm it's self is more difficult as it doesn't list them individually, just in sound files 1,2,3,4, etc.
