This printer fit the bill. I have some sticker sheets that have software stuck on an old Windows ME laptop that would not transfer to any laptop. The old laptop would only accept what was available on it as far as printer drivers go. I have tried transferring the sticker software from a CD, flash drive and floppy with no success. The 1300 was not listed on my old laptop but the 1200 was and it accepted it! I was so happy when it started printing! And the sticker sheet did not hang up one bit! Super happy! thanks to the other reviewers of the 1300 HP that help me make that decision to try this one!

The HP name typically means quality and this printer doesn't disappoint. It seems to be well made and setup was straight-forward. I bought it specifically for the wireless function and it fully meets my needs. This printer was purchased to join other HP P1102w printers used by a volunteer organization, and we will certainly buy more as our needs increase.

I bought one brand new about 3 years ago on the recommendation of fellow Mobile Notaries. Several times a month I must print two copies of emailed document packages of 100 to 125 pages, and they have to print fast and smoothly. The printer was easy to set up and use, and it has been a dependable workhorse for 103,753 pages with only 67 jammed pages (some from my exchanging letter size for legal size and vice versa without lining up the paper edges well enough). Last week pages started coming out with a crease on one side. Close examination showed a tear in one side of a grey flexible plastic roll where the paper feeds out. With no time for a repair job, and knowing I wanted another HP1300, I came to eBay to find it. Replacing one HP1300 with another HP1300 is simple - just unplug the computer cord and the power cord, delete the old HP1300 from your printer list, plug the cords into the new one, wait while your computer finds the new printer, add it to your printer list, and you're up and running again. Some older printers have conflicts with the new Vista OS, but we are running two desktop computers on Windows XP and a laptop on Vista, and the HP1300 works perfectly with all of them. It's the perfect black-and-white printer for any SOHO - inexpensive, reliable, simple.Read full review
This is my second 1300 HP. I bought the first one new. It is NOT the fastest laser printer by today's standards, but it is sure and steady. I have not have ONE (that's ZERO) problem with either one, and I print a TON of stuff. Just completed a project that used 3 cases of paper and they only thing I had to do was replace the toner. My old one has well over 150,000 sheets run through it and it runs like a Swiss watch. I actually bought the second one as a backup printer but it's great to know that isn't really necessary. Now when I get a big job to do, I share the load between both printers to speed the work. The 1300 is great for everyday printing and envelopes feed through like a greased pig. I also print a lot of labels and I have had other printers peel the label off the sheet and then the printer is toast. This has NEVER happened with the 1300. The only problem is that HP in their infinite wisdom, has long ago, dropped it from their current offerings.Read full review
I've had my HP Laserjet 1300 for over 15 years and have never had any major issues out of the machine. I've run approximately 2 boxes of paper through the printer every year. The plastic casing has faded over the years but the mechanics of the machine have worked great every time. A true workhorse of a printer for a small office. Highly recommend if you are just looking for a good b/w laser printer.

The 1300 prints about twice as fast as the 1200, but both are equally robust. Here's some info that you won't find on HP's website. 1. The aging HP Laserjet 1300 is still a very reliable printer. I have several 1300's with 120,000+ pages printed through it that are still working. With no maintenance at all. For a smaller printer, thats pretty good. Replacing a fuser isn't as quick as the 2420, P3005, 4000, 4200 series printers, but I've only had to replace 1 fuser out of 20 1300's so far. 2. HP Laserjet 1300 works well with every USB or Parallel print server that I've encountered-- Jetdirects, Netgears, and D-Links. The new HP line of laserjet printers are "host-based" (in other words, CHEAP), and most of them don't work at all with print servers. This was intentional by HP both a) to cut costs and b) deter people from networking their small laserjet printers. That's a real pain in the neck for administrators in small businesses who want to TCP/IP network some of their printers to cut costs. 3. The cost per page (CPP) out of the 1200 and 1300 series printers is much lower than the new line of equally sized HP printers. 1200 uses C7115X, 3500 pages, around $72 plus tax ship. 1300 uses Q2613X, 4000 pages, around $92 plus tax ship. CPP is roughly 2.5 cents/page. The new desktop HP laserjets have a CPP of 4 cents/page, and sometimes even higher. Summary-- if you're an individual who doesn't print a whole lot, then getting a fancy new HP printer will do you fine. But our offices (150 employees) are still using these 1300's, because these "just work", and they do it at a cost that's actually reasonable.Read full review
We have a very unique need for this particular HP Printer, it works great as a checkwriter and is now a backup unit for the current units on line. Simple easy install, great toner efficiency, often a hard to find unit. It works well in our mixed domain environment. It is one of the best printers for use with an IBM AS400 that is a member of our Windows Domain. If you need a great easy to configure, low cost network printer; then consider this model among the best.
We use it as a dedicated envelope printer and it works great - this is the third one we've had!

This is my second used HP 1300 LaserJet. The first eventually developed an error where it thinks it has a paper jam so I'll keep it for parts. I'm not too discriminating in my printer demands but I love this thing and it prints quickly. It only prints black but of course the advantage is only one ink to keep filled and it fits on my desktop. I had a competitor color laser printer that jammed repeatedly and it was a relief not to have had similar problems. My purchase was based on the reliability reports of others and I'm pleased with the results.
Very fast Clean/Clear printing, over 20 PPM. Fast Data Transfer Rate from PC to Printer to start printing projects. Large Capacity ink cartridge, close to 10,000 sheets per Cartridge!! Easy to Use and easy to find replacement ink cartidge from any local office retailer. You won't be disappointed with this reasonable priced yet high quality laser printer!
