This listing is for a VGA-graded, factory sealed copy of The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy for the NES! It received a Silver Level grade of 80 NM. .
Dr. Turner has arrived in Bedrock from the future and starts kidnapping dinosaurs and taking them back to the future. It is up to Fred Flinstone to get Dino the Dinosaur back. The player wanders through Bedrock in this traditional platform game. The player jumps, swings and clings to platforms. Along the way they can collect extra life, health, strength and ammunition pickups. Fred uses his club to thump stone age beasts and criminals and can use weapons such as slingshots and bombs. At one stage Fred challenges Hard-Head Harry to a basketball game and there is a mini-basketball sim included.
This is the first and much cheaper more common of the two NES Flintstones releases. Released in 1991, a later NES release, this game boasts really good visual graphics and backgrounds for an 8 bit game with really good music that is catchy and awesome. The gameplay can be difficult and requires some memorization. Fred is not the best at jumping or climbing so you have to really time the jumps perfectly as well as the buttons for climbing. Overall, the Rescue of Dino and Hoppy is a challenging game that makes you work for your progress and is definitely worth getting and having in your NES collection.
The game is in great condition, it brings back lots of childhood memories. The graphics for this game are pretty decent for the era it comes from. Game play itself is great, and the overall physical appearance of the game is great.
