Always a Bee Gees fan (60s to the end of Disco) but never a drooling fan - but, when I saw their new documentary - I had to get this disc! Great track list! Hardcore fans will be displeased with a few songs that are missing from this collection, but I only wish one additional song was included. To me - this IS the best of the Bee Gees without the overkill of some of their more obscure "hits." And the disc sounds phenomenal! They did a great job of mastering these songs from different periods in the Bee Gees career - and making they all feel like they really belong on the same compilation, guided by the same hand. I grew up on rock - but always appreciated the Bee Gees 60s pop stylings (mixed with some thoughtful, folk-styled lyrics) and appreciated that they evolved with the changing music landscape of the 70s while staying true to their essence - then, unapologetically leading the charge during the entire 70s disco-soul era. Not any easy task. Bowie was an evolving, folky, rockin' glam/soul/avant-garde chameleon. The Bee Gees did the same in their own way - employing great songwriting technique combined with an enthusiasm to make music that bridged and bound their brotherly love in times of upheaval.
