Good product...Great price!
Pretty good smart plugs. I ordered two of these insignia plugs. Pairing was pretty easy. Two important things to know: one, be familiar with how to do a factory reset because sometimes they freeze and won't do anything. I use mine with Alexa and sometimes the two don't quite work together as they should and a factory reset of the plug was an quick and easy fix. Alexa was never the issue in my case. A factory reset may also be the fix if you are unable to pair the plug to your wifi. To do a factory reset you will need to remove the plug from the wall and hold the on/off button and reinsert it into the wall while continuing to hold the on/off button. Continue to hold until you here a click, with takes about 4 seconds. Then you should be all set to install/reinstall it as instructed. The second thing to know is to make sure you enable the insignia skill through your alexa app if you plan to pair these plugs with your alexa device(s). Connection issues
It's hard to get them to connect to WiFi often. But once they do they're pretty standard. Sometimes if they loose connection you have to delete them and reset them to connect. Product arrived very fast and was new in the box as described. Didn't take much to set up or connect to the app and the WiFi. I'm using the timer function and it works well so far. Sometimes it turns on outside of the time and doesn't turn off when expected. Not a problem, with the App I'm able to turn it off. Takes a bit But DOES WORK w/ALEXA
When I got these plugs (bought 2 of them) had varying experiences...the first one was so easy to set up on the Insignia app...instructions do not tell you that for it to work with ALEXA you need to enable the Insignia Skill in ALEXA ...then it will work fine. The second one I bought gave me a heck of a time to get it set up in the Insignia app...it just did NOT want to work correctly...the app kept saying call failed when trying to register new plug but with ALOT of patience and stubborness, I persevered and now it is working just fine. The plugs are great at this price point the app....that could use some work but, on the bright side, once all got hooked up haven't had hardly any problems. Word if caution, sometimes when you instruct ALEXA to turn something on or off and she says OK but it diesn't turn on or off....give it a few moments...sometimes there is a lag but not often. Also, if there is a problem within the connection between the plug and the Insignia app, ALEXA will tell you it is unable to do as requested because of a problem with the specific plug...when this happens, check your Insignia app to fix from there. Useful but more like a fancy light timer
These work as listed and I have had no problems with the application interface. Easy to set up and they do work as listed. The scheduling works great for home security and such. My main issue has to do with the lack of Echo/Alexa support, they state they are working on an update to the app or skill but have no eta for this upgrade. Setup is a bit tricky. May have to factory reset plug a couple few times before the app finds it. App reset my phone wifi a few times during setup also so I had to enable auto reconnect to one wifi connection only. Took about 10min total to setup 2 of them. Downloaded the app, 10min later both are connected to wifi & linked 2 the google home app. Works as discribed simple and fast. I was so impressed after I connected them I went back on eBay and ordered another 1. 30 min after testing anyrhing... Good but a little buggy

Slow to connect, be patient.
The plugs work. If you lose power, or they become unplugged, you have to wipe the device and delete it from your phone's app, then reconnect it. It takes a good 3 minutes from the time you hit connect to actually connect. I spent over a half an hour thinking they were busted. I got side tracked after hitting connent and when I came back it had connected. Second plug I let it sit after hitting connect and 3 min later it connected.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
