Cuisinart has different model food processors, but the Cuisinart Custom 14 Cup is in my opinion their best and competitive with professional models of other companies at less than half the price. It come with 3 different blades that do most chores well. I believe specialty blades are available. The unit is well made, compact and has a powerful motor. It made French cut green beans and sliced carrots perfectly. Cleanup was easy. After owning three different brands of food processors that disappointed or burned out this one is a keeper.

I guess it is "durable" I know my other Cuisinart next size down 11 or 12 cups food processor is wonderful. The new one is kind of hard to manage with line up in the back cumbersome and sometimes difficult. It is not nearly as "simple" as the old one. It is quiet which is nicer I guess but I am frustrated trying to "get it lined up" so it will turn on. A pain. Why is the design "harder"? I don't know. But it is. The old one whose blade was recalled and replaced was the best small appliance I ever had. I still have the old blade and am passing the whole item on to my daughter.
