Save yourself $50 and buy this instead of going to the Apple Store
This is genuine OEM Apple charger. It is NOT an aftermarket imitation from China, so can trust that it will work as intended and not damage your device. What's more is that the one I received was almost utterly free of any scrathces or cosmetic damage. In other words, I essentially got a brand new Magsafe 85W charger for about 1/3 of what it would cost me at an Apple Store. Knockoff or OEM? I can't tell yet
So far I can't complain about this product. It seems good quality. And being completely honest, it is kind of implied that you won't be getting an original magsafe if you're paying less than 30 bucks. However, it shouldn't be advertised as original OEM. I bought an original OEM a couple of years ago for around 30 dollars, and that made me think of the remote possibility that it could be an OEM. I would say this magsafe is either a pretty good knockoff or a suspicious original. Other than that, it seems to work fine. Weight-wise, it is a little lighter than my previous original charger, so that makes me think it could be a knockoff. You can't tell very easily though. All things considered, it's a good deal, although, I repeat: It shouldn't be advertised as OEM if it is not one.

OEM Quality with OEM Reliability!
Recently purchased a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro 15-inch. The retailer had provided me a charger with the laptop, but I noticed whenever any sound played on my headphones a low frequency hiss. The hiss was persistent and no matter what I did while charged would continue. I finally decided to purchase this OEM adapter and the hissing sound went away and have had no issues with this charger. Every MacBook user should have an OEM Charger, this is what Apple intended, the price is comparable to a third party charger but the quality is lightyears ahead. I am very pleased with this product and am glad to know my MacBook Pro charges with an OEM Apple Magsafe 1 adaptor.
