This is an excellent Atlas of the world. As a reference book, it has it all; it has lots of detailed maps, charts, tables, and more. I thoroughly enjoy this work!

I have subscribed to National Geographic for over thirty years, and had an early edition of this atlas. I used it to dream. When I turned 50 I began teaching and initiated study abroad programs at the University. I have since been to more than forty countries and used the "dreaming atlas" to plan my programs. You cannot capture the vision and detail in one shot on any PC. And, the price was about the same as my thirty-year-old model! This atlas is comprehensive. You will not find this much information, along with a detailed index, in any other single volume. And it is the librarian's standard.
National Georgraphic Atlas is the best atlas out there. Older ones are fine, borders don't change much.

I bought this as a gift for my 80yr old father in law whom I overheard complaining that his atlas was out of date. He LOVED IT! It's graphics are beyond words & overall, a really unique, impressive gift. I have a friend who bought it for her children agaes 6-14 & they pour over it at least weekly. Price was cheapest around & free-shipping too...beat Amazon by at least $10! Speedy shipment, even during busy holiday season. A+ all around:)
