Lyrically this is the greatest album of all time, this even passes Paid in full from Eric B and Rakim. Every single song on this cd is good, my personal favorites: memory lane ,it aint hard to tell, ny state of mind, one love. Anything you would expect from the greatest mc/rapper/poet ever is on this album. WARNING this is keeping true to one of the 4 elements of hip hop MC'ing, if your into G-Unit and new music, this might not be the album for you. But, if your into lyrics, music with a meaning this is definently the album for you, especially if your a hip hop addict then this is a must have.
I've listened to hip-hop for over 20 years, and this is probably the best album I've ever heard. From start to finish, Nas displays his excellence effortlessly over the finest production from legends like DJ Premier, Q-Tip, and more. Illmatic is incredibly cohesive while being concise at only 10 tracks. If you're looking for raw creative rhymes, boom bap beats, and golden era greatness, then be sure not to sleep on Illmatic!
