Translucent flap allows our XLarge dog to see shadows outside so it was easy to train him to use the door. Not to please with the design for installing the 2 halves together. If you don't get the holes drilled exactly plumb makes it difficult to install the screws. Had to re-drill 4 of the holes not much room for error.

Very nice looking unit. Great construction. The only negative thought is that I feel it needs a little stronger magnet for closing. We have the x-tra large and the wind blows it open. Not bad in the summer but winter and subzero temps create a problem.
