In 1962 Gary Hooker designed a header for his 409 Chevrolet and discovered a demand for this header from other racers in the area. The Hooker philosophy was simple - make real, usable power by balancing the intake and exhaust pressure waves.
Mine were installed in a 67 Chevelle Malibu with a 454. If you are installing in a 64-67 Chevelle, don't. The left side requires relocation of the brake proportioning valve to the other side of the frame and engine jacked way up. The right side #6 tube hits the frame, had to beat it practically into.
Beautiful headers, however it has very large 2" tubes and are quite heavy. May work better in the 68-72 Chevelles due to the 64-67 narrow frames.
Differently not for the novice installation on the 64-67 Chevelle.
