Yamaha's entry level reverse lead pipe trumpet is an excellent choice for beginners, step up players and even professionals. The yellow brass bell and carefully matched valves and lead pipe give it a rich tone ranging from smokey at the bottom to bright and pointy at the top of the staff. It can really cut through a band if needed. Like the more common YTR 4335 it plays with good intonation and the easily adjustable slides keep it in tune. However it is more lively than the 4335 and doesn't shut down when you push above the staff and will play the nose bleed notes if you put in a shallow mouthpiece like the Yamaha EM-1. All in all it's well worth the money ( especially if you can get a good used one), and compared to the Xeno horns it's a bargain and a lot of fun too.

The finger button for the 3rd valve is missing, Otherwise the horn seems to be okay. I have not really tried it yet. I want to clean and lubricate it first.
