This is the second Garmin Tri-tronics Sport Pro training collar we own, as we just got a new puppy. The first one, purchased seven years ago, is still working great, so we are confident in this product. Especially appreciate the various settings, tone, vibrate and (we never use) shock.

I purchased the Garmin after trying to other brands that did not work. I guess like the saying goes. “3rd times the charm” I used this on my 80 pound pitty. Like I said the two previous brands he completely shrugged off and the did not phase him one bit! I tried the other two units on myself to see if they were working and they were. I purchased the Garmin after reading the reviews. They were spot on. The features worked great. And as far as the shock features go this thing is no joke and it could make the dog Yelp if set to high. I used a shock setting of 4 on my pitty Anything above 5 or 6 would really grab the dogs attention. I can only imagine the higher settings are for super aggressive dogs. But in any case this unit will work on the smallest to largest dogs. It shocks ,it vibrates, it beeps, it lights up and IT WORKS!!! when you purchase this unit and see it’s results you will then see how well you spent your money and were it went in your dogs behavior. I have used Tri-Tronics dog collars for nearly 20 years and this was my first purchase since Tri-Tronics was acquired by Garmin. I have only had the new collar for about 6 weeks and so far so good. The collar is working as designed on vibrate, beep and stimulation modes. The beacon feature is very bright. The remote is well designed and easy to use. We have not used the bark collar feature because we do not have a need for it. It is very nice to have all these features built into a single collar with a range of 3/4 of a mile all at a reasonable price. The next big test will be to see how it performs over time. Some have been disappointed that the Garmin collar is only 3/4 inch wide compared to one inch wide on the older Tri-Tronics collars. I actually like the sleeker narrower design of the Garmin collar. The charging system for this new Garmin collar seems a bit light compared to the old Tri-Tronics charging system, but time will be necessary to prove that out. Also, I have not yet had the need to test out the service department at Garmin. Service and support on dog training collars in extremely important. We love our new collar we've put it through the test duck and goose hunting works great very effective the only things that I would like to see an improvement on in the future is stronger vibration louder tone and Beacon lights all the way around the collar the current lights are nice and bright but they only come out one side of the collar so if my dog lays down he can cover them up.
