One of the reflectors was dull and I corrected it with a mirror reflection spray paint. Another one had rubbed paint on the base of light and I corrected it was gold leaf and black paint to make it look like the rest of the lights. The paint was rubbed off by the packing cardboard holder. Neither of these things has affected the lighting they throw out.

After my unimpressive 3 star rating, I must add that this is my second helping. Yes, I ordered a set last spring and will probably replace these next spring. They will work reliably all spring and summer and will begin to falter as the sunlight dwindles in fall. By end of winter, the copper-colored paint will have faded and the solar cell lens terminally clouded over. With some elbow grease I might squeeze another season out of some of them. But then, the price to replace eight of these is less than one top shelf light.

Nice looking lights. Only issue I have is they dont maintain that bronze color. It fades out after a while in the sun This is my 2nd set of purchases because they dont stay fresh looking but here I am buying them again. Probably will do something different when next summer comes and ived tired of the washed out look.

I purchased 16 of these for my deck posts and side yard railing posts. They give off a nice white light, just bright enough. The base housing I think is ABS plastic. The top that holds the battery, LED and cover is a different plastic. The top fits the base but not too securely. If you bump the light it will fall off. I drilled two extra holes, one on each side of the top to screw it to the base. Now they won't fall off. I'll need to remove the screws to change the battery but that is easy enough. The caps fit loosely on my posts ( pressure treated 2 x 4 ) but it may be because my posts have shrunk. I shimmed them using small pieces of fiber board cut the width of the post and used the mounting screws to hold it all in place. I will be buying 4 more for some other project.

When they first come on at dark they are all lite up. I have 6 of them on the post on my bridge. Which is in the direct sun light all day long. But in about 4 hours 2 of them go completely out and the other 4 get real dim. The base parts are made of plastic so I had to be extra careful when screwing them on to the post. The only good thing is that we had severe weather with flooding and they did not blow off. But if the description had stated what they were made off (plastic) I would not have bought them.
