I have been using these 8/0 Gamatsku circle for close to 7 years. They work great. They hold their point time after time of being stuck in a catfish's mouth. They hold a big bait and still allow the hook point to be exposed. I have seen these used with 7 inch bait that have caught a 90# bluecat in the Mississippi River. I strongly recommend these hooks for drift fishing and fishing in current. I wish they would make a 9/0 and 10/0 offset circle with the same wire size.

I used to be skeptical about Circle hooks but give it time and learn that you don't "set" the hook but rather lift up while keeping line taught or reel in before picking up your pole (What I do without thinking). They work trust me. I've left my pole for a couple minutes to walk back and see if got something on the line :-) although you dont always want to do that. I've almost lost a rig having to run down to grab it real quick reeling in the big ones.
