This is the blacked out version of the Bugout 535. The whole "Black CF-Elite" is mostly just marketing. There is slightly less flex than the standard Benchmade "grivory" but other than the color, the knife scales look/feel/sound like the standard version. If you just want a bugout, the standard version costs less. If you are a collector by all means grab it as it's a nice addition.

Was not impressed with knife overall, plastic scales felt cheap, S30v blade common quality steel. It’s sad that a company who for years had set the bar high for quality has followed the trend of cheapest made for highest price. In using the knife I continually had to reposition my hand to keep a grip on it, there was a noticeable flex when pressure was applied not a good feeling. Again Benchmade resting on past accomplishments!

Had been eyeing this for a long time, waited for the all black version, pulled the trigger & meh. I’ve got and have had several other Benchmade knives and have enjoyed them all. This one just feels super cheap to me- I gave this knife away and tbh the guy I gave it to loves it. I prefer the 940 myself or a lightweight para 3.

I'm a gear nut. I've used all kinds of knives for EDC from kershaw, spyderco, and benchmade. I'm always looking for something a little better, and I've found it. This is the best EDC knife ever made. Bold statement, I know. But hear me out: 1) Deep carry pocket clip disappears. Short length clip is secure but discreet. 2) Super thin form factor. Barely prints a mark in your pocket and so light you forget you have it. 3) Great handle ergonomics. Flat spine and jimping integrated in frame makes for great feel in hand. 4) Blade to handle ratio is superb; Cutting edge is long compared to overall size (unlike spydercos that have a huge handle but short usable cutting edge) 5) Thin blade is slicy. S30V is a great all around modern steel. 6) Hinge bearing is super smooth and flick-able. Lock up is tight with no play. What more do you want?Read full review

Bought this Benchmade knife for my sons birthday. He is serving in Afghanistan. He loves it! Lightweight yet durable and sharp. He said it's one of the best gifts he has gotten.
