This is a very good generator, well, I can say the best I have ever tried. I would choose this one over the Honda for far too many reasons. It is very quite, lots of options to work with, and the Craftsmanship in this type of generator on the planet. There are lots of video's online that tells you a great deal about this Briggs & Stratton P3000, But none of them talks much about the great craftsmanship on this model generator. Everything has it's own department, very easy to get to, super easy to service. I Love it, I'm telling everybody who is in the market of buying a generator to look at the Briggs & Stratton P3000 first. The prices is nice, it's worth it.

I worked in the Power Equipment Business (Lawnmowers, etc.) for a summer and have experience with a Honda engine of the type apparently used in the Honda Generators. We received a Honda Overhead Cam device for repair. The problem was the belt that drives the overhead cam. The belt had broken. To repair the device, it would be necessary to disassemble and re-assemble the device and the engine to repair the unit. It was too costly and the entire device was thrown out. The belt that drives the Overhead Cam runs inside the engine and is exposed to heat and hot oil. The belt is rubber and fabric. As an Engineer and long time Mechanic, I would never do that, it would be subject to early failure. I believe that at least some of the Honda inverter generators use the same belt technique. The Honda's use of a belt was a major factor in my choosing a Yamaha many years ago. The Yamaha was much more expensive ($2000), larger and heavier than the Honda. Today, compared to the Yamaha, the Briggs P3000 is much more powerful, only a little heavier , smaller, and much lower price. According to the parts list for the P3000, the Briggs uses a chain drive for the Overhead Cam, an excellent choice and the standard way to drive an Overhead Cam. Designs change often, so check the construction of the Honda if you are thinking of buying one.Read full review

I was surprised how quiet this was at the 3k watt model. I was able to run my AC and microwave at the same time in my 06 wildcat. Initially, I was worried that it wouldn't but thought that I'd try it. To my surprise it worked flawlessly!

The box came battered & smelled of moisture. When I opened box Gen was in tip top shape & started on 2nd pull. Ran fine with load for half hour on 1/3rd cup of gas. So far. So good. Bit noisier then expected but well worth money.
