This amplifier and accessories was not used as intended, but has functioned very well. When at home my cell phone is used almost exclusively tethered to my desktop computer for internet access. I live in a fringe area in a house with metal siding so an exterior antenna is necessary. Previously, a small yagi antenna directly connected to the cell handset through 33 feet of RG-8X was adequate. (no amplifier) When AT&T reshuffled their system to accommodate 5G, a new handset was required and I lost about 10 dB. Sometimes I had an internet connection and sometimes i didn't. So, I purchased this amplifier kit. The amp was connected to the existing RG-8X at my desk. The handset lays in a homemade cradle on my desk with the 'patch' coupling antenna in a recess in the cradle under the handset. The amp is powered by the 5 volt charger which came with the new handset through a madeup cable with USB on 1 end and appropriate DC on the other. The signal strength on the handset went from about -100 dBm previously to now about -70 dBm. All is working well again. Read full review
