Product works as advertised. Wife and I now have one that is used for finding "Yooperlite" fluorescent rocks which glow under UV black light. Compact size makes it easy to search and hold while traversing sometimes difficult areas.

A nice concept, however, several design, and functionality issues make it almost entirely useless. First, the charge port. The rubber cover has a tab to open it. The tab projects into the area where hands, and fingers are located. At best, this is very uncomfortable, at worst, the port is often pushed open, and this is also very uncomfortable. This design causes the light to be difficult in doing something so simple as just being held in the hand. Quite a bit of light emits from the flashlight, however, it appears to be an odd mixture of very little usable UV, and mostly blue, not determined by color spectrum, but by the odd light pattern in the last photo. Only a very, very narrow portion of the beam causes objects to fluoresce, and light splatter to the sides is useless, and distracting on many surfaces. Please refer to the four included photos of the light turned on to see severe illumination issues. In the first photo, a scorpion can be seen glowing in the primary spot of UV light. In the second photo, the scorpion is just a few inches to the right, and cannot be seen. I increased brightness of the photo by "100", and the scorpion is just becoming visible (third photo), but still very difficult to see, so I circled it. To the naked eye, a scorpion just a few inches from center of the beam is not caused to fluoresce, and therefore, cannot be seen. In the last photo, one can see the light pattern on a white door. Only the bright center spot causes items to fluoresce, all the light outside of the small central spot is useless, and depending on the surface, can overpower the UV portion, making the light completely non-functional as a UV illuminator. As you can see in the photos with the scorpion, the ground does not cause blinding light splatter, but also the flashlight does not illuminate scorpions, stains, or other items of interest, unless the object is directly in the center of the beam. Multiple field tests indicate a pointless product of such little practical use, it will just be disposed of.Read full review

The sections fit perfectly together and lock in place, feels heavy duty. Even the beam reflector is made of aluminium, which surprised me as well. A definite recommendation. There is no focusing mechanism, but I'd rather have a sturdy light than an advanced mechanism. The battery seems good, but I've not had the light for long enough to know if it'll last. The UV light is a lot brighter than a much larger light I also got, that has 50 LEDS instead of just one large LED, however I am not able to measure the precision of the output wavelength so I can't say anything good or bad about it. Seems well tuned though.

I had no idea that this light would have been made with such good quality. The flap that covers the charging port needs work but this light is amazing.

This UV light is so much brighter than my old UV LED light. I collect World War Two patches and the UV light is used in detecting patches made with nylon thread. The WWII patches are made from cotton thread and nylon thread glows under UV light which was manufactured in the 1950’s and not in the 1940’s.
