If you have a stubborn dog that needs a bit more stimulation to stay within the boundaries of your wireless containment system... this works great. My dog would take the stimulation of the highest setting on the collar the system came with, and now with the new stubborn dog collar completely respects the boundaries. It does not matter how tempted he is, he stays in the yard. My other older dog now uses the collar that came with it (on the lowest setting) and does fine with it. He does not like ANY stimulation from the collar. The only thing I wish it had, was a vibration warning, because my older dog (and MANY older dogs) cannot hear very well. My old "in ground" dog fence had a collar that would have an audible warning as well as a vibration warning prior to stimulation... REALLY helps for those older pups that cant hear too well anymore. This collar also works with my "Premier Pet" wireless containment system. (Not "PetSafe")... although I do believe that they are sister companies. When I contacted "Premier Pet" about a stubborn dog collar, they informed me that they did not offer one for my system, but the "PetSafe PIF00-13672" collar would work with my system... I am pleased to confirm that is the case. If you have a Premier Pet system, make sure that you contact them (PremierPet) prior to purchase, as they will advise which stubborn dog collar (if any) work with the system you purchased.Read full review

Having used the standard collar on its highest "5" level, my dog didnt even flinch after passing the boundry, so I bought this Stubborn Dog collar, set to its highest "6" level and slapped it on my dog using the longer electrodes. First time my dog hit the boundary limit, she gave a slight wimper and powered through and on to greener pastures..... We worked on the boundary the following day and I thought she understood the gentile reminder to say inside the limit, but as soon as I left her alone, OFF to those greener pastures she went.... So needliess to say it did not work for my head strong dog...

The instructions provided with this collar were easy to understand and use for training my dog. The collar works great for me with just the tone level activated. The only issue is with us getting used to him roaming around the house instead of being tied to a leash in the back yard. The collar has made him a happier dog and made us less frantic about him wandering away. This is a great investment for you and your dog.

I love this collar. We had the normal one and our big dog broke through it every time. This made it where we had to keep him in a kennel. A friend told me about the stubborn collar and I really didn't think it would work, but it does!!! I am so glad our man can stay outside in a bigger area now. The rechargeable collar is the way to go. A 5 star rating because it’s available, but really should be standard equipment with the original wireless setup. The standard collar with the proprietary battery setup was a fail, at least for our dog. No wonder those batteries come in ten packs. New one is a decent upgrade.

Works great for my stubborn Husky, I bought a $180 remote shock collar for stubborn dogs because he is just absolutely stubborn but bought this because we were going out of town and having someone else watching them and when he found the boundary again with the new collar he realized what it was and now stays in the yard.
