Heavy a Duty means thick and hard plastic for most of it. It does the job and securely holds the phone.
Heavy a Duty implies all metal for a camera mount. It is sturdy and the mounts and connections are all threaded with no springs to wear out. Not sure it survives a drop especially if it’s cold where you use it. I use it with a Manfrotto tripod quick release plate. Great iPhone XS Max holder to take photos on monopod
I use this iPhone tripod mount with my Manfrotto monopod and Manfrotto 3229 swivel hand with quick release plate. This combo allows me to position the camera really quickly to take my photos. It’s a great iPhone attachment that works well. The clamp down piece has a knob which you can hand tight to secure your phone from falling out. Very solid mount!
I was surprised how solid this mount was when I received it. The rubberized pads protect your phone very well and prevent slippage when moving the tripod around. The fact you can adjust the angle of the mount for vertical/horitzonal, or even angled shots is a definite plus! Had no issues with it coming loose and it’s easy to break down when done. I highly recommend this mount over the spring loaded mounts you see for a slightly cheaper price! I owned one of those and the phone can slip out of the mount, it can scratch your phone on the metal arm. I am very happy that I upgraded from the spring loaded mount to this. Never again will I purchase the others!
