I have had mine for a week now and I love it. It’s produce some impressive videos for me that I can never do freehand or with a tripod. No real complaints. I used an iPhone 7 Plus for my recordings and I had no issues. This gimbal is a good value at $125 if you plan to use it regularly for your recordings. I am not a fan of the object tracking though. It needs to be better at recognition and is no snappy at all.

The Gimbal itself works wonderfully, this product loses stars and my recommendation due to the software. In order to fully use all of the features of this gimbal, you need to be connected through bluetooth and recording video through Zhiyun's app. Right off the bat it should be noted that not all devices support the app and you have to check for compatibility on android devices before purchase. Even if it is compatible with your device, the quality of the video produced by the zhiyun app is lower than the quality produced by the native camera software on my device (testing done with iphone SE2). I got video with significant photographic noise recording outdoors in bright light. The app also requires you to choose your model of gimbal on every startup instead of auto-connecting to your last used device which means you have to go through multiple screen taps every time you set up your gimbal. It doesn't sound that bad but remember, at the time you are doing this your phone is most likely already mounted and operating the touch screen is annoying. The focus ring which seems like a great differentiating bonus over other models in the price range is actually an encumbrance being placed to near to where your hand must rest causing me to frequently accidentally pull focus when it is not intended. returning to autofocus then requires a tap on the screen. As far as I have seen, there is no way to disable that wheel while continuing to use their app for recording. Basically what I;m saying is the app is garbage and the differentiating features are more annoyance than bonus. If you record in your native app or use it while following a kid around so grandparents can watch them during a video chat, it functions wonderfully in a disconnected state but, without naming competitors, you can get smaller, fold-able options which travel better for the exact same price and from what I have read, their software is less of a pain to use. The actual item is well built but the software needed to run has faulty features and function. The panoramic function doesn't work properly and locks up the main motor causing it to over heat. This appears to be a known problem on YouTube and other social media. The SW also lacks compatibility with most phones. The maker should devote more time to SW development. It could be a good product but the SW ruined it.

there is nothing out there that compares with the Smooth 4, the functions that this gimbal offers and for under $150 can't be beat, the DJI Osmo has nothing on it... pros: price functionality very user friendly cons: no carrying case
