I've got a hedgehog and it works great! Of course it isn't silent, but no wheel will ever be completely silent. Hedgehogs have limited choices for wheels, but this is perfect. My only problem is that I can't get the stand off to attach it to the cage, so I just used some zip ties for now. Maybe I'm just not strong enough or something. All in all, it's great!

Very safe for your critters... I wish I would of googled rats and wheels before purchasing though .. My male rat and from what I have read others do not like wheels or balls... Too smart I think ... So the only time he gets in it is when I clean his cage .. when he's stressed .... so no wasn't a good purchase for me ... But is safe for their little toes as they can't get them caught in the wheel...
