it seems it looks like the battery supplied is defective. After inserting it into the my Nikon d5100, the display shows the message "This Battery cannot be used. Choose battery designated for use in this camera". Through the viewfinder of the camera you can also see that the battery is almost discharged but after inserting it into the charger the blinking light indicating charging slowly fades until it goes out completely so the battery cannot even be charged. I guess I was unlucky to have a defective piece because another battery works in the camera without any problems

OEM Nikon is perfect for my Nikon camera. I once bought another brand and it worked for about a year and then it wouldn't charge anymore. I carry 3 Nikon batteries when going out and taking my amateur photography, just in case. It the battery in the camera is fully charged, I won't generally need to replace it, but when it's in a middle of a charge from a previous time, I can easily replace it and not feel it's not going to work, like it happened before with the other brand.
