My friends told me about this battery. So far it has been working great, has more starting power on my 51 Packard than the old 6 volt square battery. I do not have to fill it with water and that is a plus. I surfed the web and found this battery to be a good value, the old type batteries were just about the same cost. Time will tell, but my club members have been experiencing approximately 6 years before replacement. Try it, you will find it to be a great battery.

I am disappointed with the quality of the Optima batteries in the last few years. I bought my first one in Nov of 1994 and it is still starting the car, However the 3 or 4 I have purchase in the last 5 years have all failed within 1 or 2 years. This is probable the last one I will purchase.

I used a battery like this for six years without issues. Just bought a replacement and am hoping for another six trouble free years. The best feature is the lack of needing to service the battery with electrolyte (lead acid batteries require this) and no chance of acid spills.

These probably last twice as long as conventional batteries plus many times the old style leaks and corrodes the battery box. It's the answer for me. If you need the "old" look there's empty battery cases to set these in available to buy.
