Nightmare
Recently got around to mounting this tank for a trip where I needed extra fuel. What a nightmare. No where I instructions does it say you’ll have to cut you electronics cover on left side of bike to make tank fit to be able to slide through subframe. You can’t run radiator braces or guards if you already have them installed on your bike. Worst of all once I saw everything I’d have to cut or remove to make tank fit my electronics cover I had to cut wouldn’t even slide over because IMS has fuel pump discharge point out to the left where as stock is to the rear so the subframe would not bolt up unless I cut more of the bike. I put the stock tank back on!! All in all regret the purchase, cut up my brand bike, am stuck with $220 tank I can’t use/won’t use, and for $2 at the 99 cent store I was able to just carry more fuel in my backpack. Carry more gas with you or buy a new bike is my recommendation. No offense Yamaha love the FX but poor design for oversize tanks on a bike designed for desert racing

not well designed
Had to pull apart so much of the bike to fit not sure how i will ever remove it to change the spark plug lot of work for little result
