Mario Kart has long been one of the best "Party Games", and this version is no exception. I have a five year old niece who can pick this up and play it alongside her mom, dad, and me. Lots of vehicle types to choose from, lots of items to unlock, and the hilariously enjoyable gameplay that has long been a hallmark in this series. This was one of my first purchases after picking up a Switch, and i was not disappointed. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and enjoyable to pick up and play with friends or family.
I am still getting a feel for the game but it feels significantly dumbed down from mario kart 64. The game feels much less challenging like it was designed for toddlers or young children, which may be the case. I just don't feel like it takes any degree of skill. It seems like the game even helps you steer...
A game worth having, if you have a switch, buy this game. If you have the wiiu version but have a switch, it’s a better version to have!!!
For one, I had the game already for my WiiU and I wasn’t sure if I was getting the same experience, let me tell you it’s an upgrade from the old WiiU version. By default you can enjoy a 2 player game rights away thanks to the switch allowing each joy-con as independent controllers. Not to mention added game mechanics like double items and a much better and preferred battle mode, if you’re rebuying the game just to race new tracks you might be disappointed as there’re little to no new tracks other than the battle mode and pre-included dlc tracks from the previous game. But the experience is like new and the ability to take the game around as easily as the console, makes this game a must have for party games!!!
It's Mario Kart, it is great fun especially with family or friends. This Deluxe edition is especially good because it includes extra tracks, and it has many characters to choose from. In fact, it has the most tracks I have seen in any other Mario Kart game, complete with many different trophy cups. The selection means there is bound to be a favorite track and character for everyone. Being able to play on the Switch is great since it is so portable, and Mario Kart is great for family trips and things. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is that it is much more costly compared to the Wii U version, but the price difference was worth it for the benefits the switch provides and having the DLC tracks included helps.
So far this game is as expected, fun and great for the whole family! I recently purchased the Nintendo switch and a few recommend games like Mario Kart. It is a fun game in to play alone but it's an even better game multiplayer mode! I plan on having family over this weekend and I am definitely bringing out the Switch and all these games! Graphics are really good on the handheld device and even better when connected to the tv! I would definitely recommend purchasing this game as one of your first when you buy a Nintendo switch.
