You can even turn on "water lock" so you an wear it swimming or in the shower! However, the multitude of features and modes can be overwhelming: the display I'm currently using has tiny type but it is tricky to change the settings on the device itself; you will probably want to do so from your phone. To move between modes, you first need to whack it, then stroke it; to see the display you inch it. Not exactly intuitive.

I did not get an instruction manual so I had to download one. I still have not found out how to track my walking distance (in miles) exercise with this Fitbit.
