Fire emblem three houses came to my attention while I was searching for a games for my brand new nintendo switch. I read the many positive reviews it had so I got it and gave it a try and it was the best decision I've ever made. The story, characters, the battles, everything is just soo good. I've never played rpg games because I only showed interest in shooting games but let me tell you this game is one if not the best game I've ever played. Really recommend it. You won't be disappointed!
I’ve played all the fire emblems since path of radiance, and that was my favorite. This fire emblem still carries elements from awakening and adds new mechanics that many have already heard about giving it a “Persona” feel.
This game is not as addictive to me as many stories I hear about. The support system is lacking compared to previous entries so far. Really it just doesn’t keep my attention as well as previous entries, but it has enough of the classic fire emblem elements to get me through my first play through. I don’t think I’ll go back through and play all three, but it’s still enjoyable as is
Fun gameplay loop. Lose hours or just play on commute
Awesome game. Logged 200 hours in it just because I liked it that much. You can spend as much time or as little time beating the campaign but there's 4 different campaigns and the second+ time playing through is easier because of new game+. Can be enjoyed by all. This is the best Fire Emblem as far as character writing is concerned.
The primary gameplay loop is explore monastery/minigames, develop characters, fight enemies on tactical map (reminiscent of chess).
You do not need to play any other Fire Emblem (story is standalone).
For first time playing I suggest reading the tutorial/guide popups. Mechanics are slightly different from past games.
I’ve loved Fire Emblem since the Gameboy Advance. It’s one of my favorite games, super fun, great strategy game, and Three Houses is the modern, expanded, better graphics version of my childhood favorite! Highly recommend for people new to the space but also to the OGs
The gameplay is in essence the same but with a few changes to the original formula. The idea of teaching and molding your units to what you see fit is great and the bonding system makes it diversed. There are various activities to participate around the academy but feels like it could have been better developed in terms of controls or added benefits. The combat looks similar to Gamecube counterparts but gives away the weapon triangle, only developed weapon skills have advantages. The unit reclassing can be a bit overwhelming at first too but opens any posibility to class your units anyway you want with plus and cons. The story is a bit confusing even thought Im on chapter 4 or 5 only. The replay value of this game is the biggest plus here! You have to choose between 3 houses of students to teach and develope wich means every story will be diferrent and you can still persuade other house students and characters to come to yours.
I am yet to test the online features of the game! Sorry, still not very convinced on the Switch's online benefits... 🤷🏻♂️Read full review
