You have to look far and wide to find a better automatic movement watch for around $100.00 The Seiko 5 has been around since the 1960's and is no resurrected as a brand new fully automatic movement watch. It may be assembled elsewhere than Japan but the quality is first rate and the watch is a thing of beauty. For some reason Seiko decided to add a rather basic linked stainless band that over time feels fine but when new certainly needs a break-in period to feel comfortable. Not to worry, since this is a dress watch most men will opt to change out the metal band for a quality leather band, as I did. The feel is now great and I have a wonderful piece of history in a newly made package. Everything is brand new inside, this is not an old tired Seiko 5, although most still run well today. If you spend anytime looking for a Seiko 5 with dauphine hands you know there are not many out there usually these were put on the more expensive versions such as the Actus and going all the way up to the Seiko Grand. Has Seiko 5 watches for over 40 years. They are both stylish and rugged. I prefer the automatic which winds itself with movement---no battery needed. My first 2 ones I had serviced/cleaned by authorized repair shop and they lasted >10 years. Now is's hard to find a service/repair shop. After some years they tend to slow down a little (1-5 minutes/day) and need servicing, which has become expensive; so, for an extra $ 20-30 I bought a new one.
