Recently switched from a Canon 7d to a Sony A7. Had been using a Tamron 18-270 on that camera for the past decade - results were limited by by the photographer (me), otherwise never a problem with that lens. I had hoped to get a similar lens for the new Sony, this was as close as I could find. I miss the shorter focal length of the previous lens, and of course the reach. I appreciate the extra stop at the wide angle end. And so far I haven't missed the stabilization - the Sony does a pretty good job with that. Have only been using this lens for the past month, but pics seem noticeably sharper than my older lens/camera combination. The lens looks good physically and makes a nice compact package with the mirrorless camera. Reviews have it stacking up nicely against Sony's super zoom, and I've not been disappointed so far. This is a great travel lens with a range for street, grips and landscapes. The 2.8 f stop is great for evening street photography too, but increases per rapidly past 35mm. I found the eye focus good, maybe not as quick as a Sony lens, but good. Wold like a larger range, but I wouldn’t want to have the added distortion, so this really is the best compromise for me.

I watched practically all reviews on YouTube... I bought this lens.... Its is unreal. If you travel photographer this is the only lens you need. If you can grab a wide angle in additional you in heaven... Sharp, Fast. Image quality is out of this world. Just shoot as much as you can. Ejoy! I do every time I use this great product.

everything is good, except that the focusing can be slow or totally failed, not sure whether a brand problem or this lens' problem…
