When I first saw this, I thought there was no way that this will give me the purchase area I want for quick consistent slide drops. I couldn’t find another slide release that I actually wanted so I took a chance with this one. Wow was I amazed. I get plenty of purchase area, easier to reach, easy to drop because I have so much more leverage, and most importantly, I’m very consistent with this release. I would have never guessed that a Glock stock extended part would give me this much performance. This is far superior than other releases in my opinion. My opinion that is. Probably the best upgrade yet that I have done. I’ve done- extended slide release, extended mag release, hyve base plates, hyve slide end plate, inforce pistol mounted light, sights, and extended slide lock tabs. Great product.Read full review

RIGHT FROM GLOCK, THE EXTENDED SLIDE RELEASE IS ACTUALLY A BIT TOO LONG, AND IT APPEARS THAT MOST OF THE AFTERMARKET MODELS ARE GUILTY OF THIS TOO. GLOCK, WITH THEIR FAMOUS AUSTRIAN ENGINEERING, SHOULD HAVE DESIGNED THESE SO THEY LINE UP WITH THE ELONGATED "U" SHAPED FRAME POP-OUT WHICH SITS DIRECTLY BELOW THE THUMB RELEASE. THEY ALL SEEM TO BE A BIT TOO LONG, SITTING TOO CLOSE TO THE REAR OF THE "U" SHAPED STANDOUT. ALL GLOCK NEEDED TO DO WAS ADD THE SMALL POKE-OUT LEDGE TO THE STANDARD RELEASE, BUT INSTEAD, THEY MADE IT SO LONG THAT IT LOOKS ILL-FITTING AGAINST ANY GLOCK PISTOL FRAME. THEY DO WORK PERFECTLY, BUT THEY DO NOT FIT THE FRAME SIDE PROPERLY--INEXCUSABLE FOR GLOCK!

Arrived ahead of schedule. Great price. Very easy to install. [watch you tube videos]. Makes it so much easier to release the slide. 4 other things you need for your Glock are a extended take down lever, a threaded barrel and muzzle brake [from Lone Wolf Distributors], and a Beaver Tail grip adapter. You will be pleasantly surprised by just how much the muzzle brake reduces recoil and muzzle rise. I put them on my wife's Glock 26 9mm and my Glock 27 40 cal. If you are shooting a Glock subcompact, you should install Pierce plus 2 mag extensions. They give your little finger something to hold on to. I also installed strips of Grip Tape to the sides and front of the mag extension for a better grip. Hope this was helpful.

This slide release makes for a quicker, easier slide release after reloads. It makes a huge difference over the one that came on my 17 and 19 gen 4's. It is also a genuine Glock factory part and easy to install, no gunsmith needed. Just follow all safety rules like any other time you work on or clean your weapon. Treat the weapon as if it were loaded till you are sure it is clear. Mag out, slide locked open with a visual and physical check of the chamber. I personally never have live ammo in the same room or in mags in that area..

This makes it so much easier to hit the slide release. The standard slide release is just a flat piece of metal, which works but is hard to use. Its especially difficult if your left handed, which I am. When changing mags, I would always hit the slide release with my pointer finger, but I cant do it with the standard one. Left or right handed, this makes it really easy to do because there is more material to grab onto. Its easy to swap out too. If your considering buying this, I will tell you to go for it. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. To swap this part in you knock out the trigger pin enough to pull out the slide release, then put the new one in and tap the pin back in.

Bought these for a friend & my Gen 4 Glocks (hers a 19, mine a 23). They installed quickly & simply requiring less than 10 seconds to install once the pin is knocked/pushed out. It was a big help to her as she had difficulty with the factory slide release, many times needing to use both thumbs to release the slide, but no more. Release is now easy to find & the raised "snag free" bump makes it easy to manipulate the the additional leverage. One of the few "mandatory" upgrades recommended for new Glocks & their owners. Other upgrade suggestions are: the sights, grip insert, extended take down release, & hand grip wrap (Pachmayr makes a great one).

The number 1 mod the 1st mod you need to do to any Glock !Make a world of difference in releasing slide after a reload in IDPA matches cuts your time down tremendously over racking the slide almost 3 times faster than having to take your other hand after reloading mag and reposting move in up and turning wrist racking slide and continue to shoot with this it's a simple push of the thumb and you are back to shooting my opinion it's much faster and safer ypu don't loose aim on your target not target recovery time no changing aim point by other hand torquing the slide off into another direction by racking the slide it's a much easier repeatable muscle reflex action to use I've cut my times by a full second on reloading by using this.Highly recommended

These are OEM slide releases that come from Glock on their G34 pistol. I recently purchased a G34 Gen 4 Glock and was amazed how much easier it was to manipulate the slide. This got me thinking and caused me to remove The G34 slide release and install it on both the G17, then on the G19. What I pleasantly found was that it made both the G17 & G19 operate with the same ease as the G34. I am pleased and consider it to have been money well spent and see no reason to look for anymore improvement or search out an aftermarket part to improve function. For those of you that want to beautify your pistol and also improve function, aftermarket may be the direction you want to forge ahead with.

This is a Glock original upgraded part. It fits perfectly and drops right in with no problems. It functions great and makes it so much easier to lock the slide back or to release the slide. It also is designed so it does not get in your way during shooting. Very low cost and easy installation make this a no brainer part to put in your Glock.

Much easier to release the slide without tearing up my thumb! Just be careful removing the pin. I knew it would require some force because the gun is brand new, however you also need to wiggle the original slide release while pushing the pin out. There are grooves on the pin that can get caught by the release, and I ended up bending my original slide release pretty bad. But that was my fault, nothing wrong with the new slide release!
