I got this for gaming, but it doesn't do what I needed. I will upgrade to the i7 processor. This one lags the system down for my level of gaming. Live and learn

Very fast and reliable CPU. Does get hot so make sure you have excellent cooling, Their are better CPU's out their with more cores but this is a good beginner chip,

Bought this for my son's gaming PC. It's very fast and perfect for all his gaming needs. The i5-6600K seems faster than a workstation I have running on an older i7-3440 CPU which surprised me. Definitely a good value for the price.

I have an older version of the i3 that has measured up fantastically to these later generations of processors. So much that the 2011 version of Skyrim runs smoothly. I cannot wait for this new rig to come together. Other than a little damage from the loose packaging. Cosmetic on the outer box not anywhere near the chip itself.

When I bought all the parts for my first PC, I had no idea what I was doing when it came to assembly. However, when it came time to upgrade, the process was so easy that even I, with no PC building experience mind you, could figure out how to do it. Just get yourself an Anti-Static Wrist Band, a basic tool kit, and some Thermal Paste, and you’re ready to go. The PC runs great now with this processor as opposed to the Dual Core I was running before. You would think that a GTX 750 TI couldn’t possibly get bottlenecked...well, Dual Core says “Hold my beer.” The Quad Core, however, fixes that issue.

Kind of a Wolf in sheep clothing. Fast, for what it is. Used it for a while, pulled out to share with a new system that will include W-11. There are 3 flavors of this cpu. Has to do with "K" and processor speed.

Amazing CPU, one of the best options for a gaming PC, even in 2018. It's price has gone down to under $200, yet it can easily beat some newer i5 and i7 when overclocked. I have mine running right now at 4.3ghz with MSI Command Center and it runs great. Would highly recommend for anymore looking to get bang for their buck.

I got this processor for $200 on sale and I was impressed to see how it was running after installation. For the price it works excellently and can handle running almost all of my games with no issue in max settings, thanks in part to the graphics card. I recommend this over the i7 coubterpart because for $100 less the performance gap isn't as big as some people make it out to be.

Everything else is overkill. Kaby Lake equivalent gives a small bump in performance, but this is still worth buying at a discount (like I did).
