If you are looking for a replacement for the cheap plastic mount look no further. I use this metal mount to fit the lens on a Viltrox M2 focal reducer. If you want to do the same thing with the original plastic mount you have to saw off a part of it, otherwise it won't fit on the Viltrox M2 focal reducer. Now it fits perfectly on the lens. I like the quality of the metal, it makes my 10-18mm canon lens way more sturdier. It comes with 4 screws, but the bayonet mount needs 6 screws, 4 of them are regular size and 2 are smaller. These 2 smaller screws keep the electronic connection in place. Just keep in mind not to throw away the original 2 smaller screws as there is no replacement for them in this kit.

I have a Sony a6500 and won’t pay the crazy prices for a Sony 10-18mm f4. Saw some videos on how to “hack” a Canon 10-18mm for use on an EF-only Sigma MC-11 but didn’t like the idea of taking a hacksaw to the lens backplate. After 40mins of switching the plates, I was left with a smart looking metal backplate and Sigma MC-11 compatibility. In short, the lens works on most AF settings an I’m a happy camper.
