It’s a good little microphone for the price. I’m not as fond of the sound produced compared to my Sure Beta 87A Supercaratoid mic, but the 87A requires phantom power so cannot be used wireless which is my use intent. The weight is on-par with the 87A, but I wouldn’t consider it lightweight per say and that said I don’t necessarily consider lightweight as a positive thing.

These vintage mics are great quality. I own mine since 1994 and it still sounds great. This mic has seen a lot of tour life and abuse. I would recommend using it with female singers. Still you can use it for potentially everything and get a good result. A must have for rental companies or a good engineer.

The perfect mic for all i do from easy acoustic stuff to foot stompin' grassy stuff-- I absolutely LOVE my Beta. Always wanted one and finally broke down and got it! I see this as the last mic I will EVER need. I have no idea why I did not do this earlier- Have tried Senns, Funks, and other mics I thought were the thing but I always come back home! Highly recommend. Has a bit of a brighter and more natural sound than the SM58 and SM7b. I use it without any EQ for business videos. Is a bit gain hungry though. Ended up having to get a fethead to use increase gain and keep background hiss low. But highly recommend.
