I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 3.0L Flex Fuel w/ just under 135K miles at the time I write this. For the last 3 months my idle has been high and/or erratic with the a/c on or off, when I turned the a/c off the idle would go higher, pressing the brake pedal w/ a/c on made the idle go to almost 3K, and the idle would just be all over the place. During acceleration and cruise speeds my engine would ping (detonate) a lot. After changing this sensor it's as if I have a brand new truck again! My fuel mileage has improved a great deal, too! Do NOT use generic parts store sensors! Use ONLY Ford Motorcraft! The computer is very touchy and does not like generic sensors at all! You'll need a 3/4 inch wrench for the sensor. This is the sensor that the computer works off of, not the gauge in the dash. There will be 2 wires going to it. The gauge switch only has 1 wire.Read full review

The sensor was not the problem, the description of product by whom it was sold was. Advertised as to fit 94 through 03 7.3 diesel, but it didn't fit my 95. Need better information for the do it yourself truck owners
