I have 3 big dogs & I live in about a hundred year old house. I hate house smells so I thought this may help. I left it on in a rooms closed up with no animals for an hour or more & come back later, every thing smelled fresh and clean. I have only used it once but it seems to be working fine. I ran it in my house while I was away at work because airing out the house just didn't seem to freshen the air. When I got home I could smell something in the air that wasn't in the air before so I know it was working. I opened all the doors and windows knowing that it important not to breath in this air. Even with a fan blowing air in from outside it takes a good hour or so to effectively replace the air in the house but since then I am comfortable that there are no odors , even ones that I have become accustomed to and don't know they are there.

So far, it seems to be pretty great! It has a timer and a setting that will allow you to leave it on indefinitely until you manually turn it off. I've only used this a few times but it seemed to decrease the smell of mold/cigarette smoke in an approximately 400 sq ft unit we rented. We'll have to keep using it to see if it eliminates the smell completely. Ebay required a yes or no answer to "Is it quiet". I have no idea how loud it is since we run out the door every time we turn it on.
