I got this one to replace a 950Q that I've had for years, it's starting to show it's age. Looked at the 955Q which is a newer model but not supported well under linux. Been using the 950q under Linux Mint 17.3 and it's practically plug and play, all you have to do is install the software to use it. Me-TV and Kaffeine work very well with it, MythTV requires a bit of setting up to get it to work. Most broadcasts these days are ATSC, no more analog TV, but I use the composite and S Video inputs with VLC media player to digitize my old VHS tapes. Works good under Windows too. I use this device between a desktop PC and a laptop when I want TV on the go. Highly recommended, you can't go wrong with the 950Q.

I changed to these TV tuners from my other units as not only will these work under Windows (Currently have it working in Windows 10 with WinTV 8)...But they will also work under Linux (Have it working with Zorin). They are easy to get working with the WinTV software under Windows. With Linux it is much more difficult as there is no Linux software provided and I had to do a lot of customization to get it working under Linux (Using a combination of software) but eventually I got it working under Linux as well.

When I first installed it there was no sound just a picrure so I Had to call Hauppauge Tech Support and they emailed me a link to the latest version of the software (with AC3 sound drivers) and a registration code, once I installed the latest software it works great, of course like all digital tv tuners a lot depends on the antenna placement I'm using an amplified indoor antenna and I have it placed high up on top of an armoire in my living room and I'm getting over 30 stations this way,

Hello, I am not a techie, therefore, I read the enclosed 'Quick Start' sheet several times before and during the installation. Not too difficult. The tuner works just fine. The biggest issue that I am trying to solve is how to make the enclosed remote control work. I checked numerous web sites, including Hauppauge and forums without success. I am using Windows 10 system. Would be a great item if I could make the remote control work. Still trying.
