I purchased this monopod a few months ago in the hopes that it would provide some respite from a 7 pound professional camera that is too heavy to drape around my neck for long shoots. The first time I used it, the bottom piece fell off and I would have lost it for good if a friend hadn't found it for me. The base doesn't provide stability unless you continue to hold onto the whole thing with the camera on it. It may work for that purpose with a tiny camera on it, but my Canon 7D Mark II with 70-200 2.8 lens is much too large for that. The screw that attaches your camera is very sturdy and will most likely hold out though, it was the base that unscrewed on it's own and fell off. While it is useful for shooting events that you don't need to bend down or move around alot, it is too bulky to bother with most of the time. The price was rather steep for what it delivers as well. Since it wiggles so much, if you need something for capturing images with a slow shutter release, this would not work for you. Read full review
