I've now gone from the Drivecore I's to the Series 2 and I do like the controllable lighting, Menu Layout and the Input Sensitivity setting. Unlike the Series I XLS's this variant can adjust the Input Sensitivity for Home equipment and it works pretty well with less need for using a Di box converter. I almost get full Headroom with the Input Sensitivity set to High and having my DSP set to High for all channels without hurting my Dynamic Range's Noise Floor. I will probably add back my ROLLS Di's as I get better control and can back off my Preamps output settings securing my Noise Floor Level but I certainly wouldn't have to do this as it works pretty decent without and external control. These are very inexpensive, great sounding, stack-able rack mount amps, that perform very well across the 20-20 audible range, love these amps. I have four of these new amps and plan on buying at least two more for an Atmos system that I can also use for Karaoke or Stage events too. Being rack mounts I can keep most everything connected and go mobile easily if required, which I will do. The only thing these amps lack for that is multiple amp setup mode to preset like the next level up Crown have.Read full review

Every thing about the amp is great, EXCEPT, I cant get the internal crossover to work. I have followed the instructons to a T, but channel B won't split to the high croeeover. I am not new to electronics as I have been working with and building some for many years... I hope it is just a simple glitch or miscue. I haven't seen any forums to address this. Other than that, the amp sounds and preforms great. But one of the reasons I bought the amp was Crown"s history, reputation and the built in crossover feature, which I can't use at present. I will follow up on it when I get things working or fixed...

This amp is a pro-level powerhouse. It takes both balanced XLR or 1/4 jack connections as well as RCA...has a built in crossover, controllable display features and bridged it puts out 2400 watts. I also like the choice in sensitivity so it can still play loudly with lower level input signals. I use it bridged to drive an 18" subwoofer and it shakes the foundation! Highly recommended!

It is time a generation of light weight power amps are now available. The model is XLS 2502 with 440 watts at 8 ohms stereo. The weight is 10.8 lbs. Has a nice clean sound. The cooling fan does come on and cycles to remove the heat. The sound of the fan is not annoying. The output transistors get hot. The drivecore IC does not get hot. I would like to know if the amp will take the Phoenix summer heat. (105 up ) Also it has a menu to be set up by 3 buttons and a display.

Bought this for powering my front home theatre speakers. Couldn’t be more happier. Just so much clean power. Best $ per watt value available out there for a home user. I was a bit skeptical about the hiss mentioned by few users but it’s really not noticeable unless there is absolutely no other sound playing from the speaker. That doesn’t bother me considering this amp is meant for pro use where this is not meant to be a concern. Great buy.

This replaced Inuke 6000 DSP no noticeable difference in power no sand noise no loud speaker thumps when turning off system like inuke had. I’m using this for home theater on my subwoofers. My 5th crown xls. All work perfect. Wanted inuke for parametric eq in its dsp. Got muni dsp for crown and its much better

11 pounds of whoop-a$$! Surprised at this amps output, even though it's on-paper specs state what they are; they are fact, Also, with XLR cables connected... Much improved clarity, detail and imaging is achieved. So, if you buy this amp, nab a pair of XLR's to boot and ditch those RCA's. Stays cool as a cucumber and runs quite as a mouse. Menu settings for those not connecting to pre/ pro's and preamps. Lastly... Closeted my beloved Yamaha MX-1000u in lieu of the Crown Pro XLS 2502, if that tells you something.

It's all youd ever want in an amp and I've owned some great high end amps before. This amp drives very hard to drive speakers that are rated for 400Watts and are commonly ran with amps that are several thousand dollars or more.

I own 2 XLS 2205 amps. These run cool, sound neutral and are clean enough for home theater and stereo listening. They have a slightly higher noise floor compared to say a MOSFET Adcom or bipolar based Parasound but do a good job. They are also great for professional sound reinforcement. These are reliable and run cool. Highly recommended.
