The knife itself is of decent enough quality; it is set up as a 'neck-knife', with a chain and kydex sheath and being very lightweight. The knife is only 5 inches long, so the handle is 2&3/8 inches, and 1/4 inch thick, with a 2&1/2 inch long blade (2 inch cutting surface). Again the metal and the handle are decent enough quality, but the size of the knife is the issue. When holding it it feels like something out of a Crackerjack box. If someone were looking for a very small knife that is easily carried, even around one's neck, then this could work. The issue is that the pictures of the knife are deceptive -- not necessarily purposefully deceptive, but they give the impression that the knife is larger than it actually is. It most likely would be of utility to someone who needs a minimum length of cutting edge, and is happy to make do with this 'pee-wee' size. Because of its diminutive size, the price leaves one feeling that they've been somewhat fooled into paying over $80. dollars for something that is really too small to justify that price. I'm not sure most people would consider it worth half that amount. Perhaps the Spyderco name has something to do with what they're charging for it.Read full review

I had to replace a neck knife that I absolutely love that Buck no longer makes, so I settled on this one. While it was considerably more expensive, it is a a knife that has a lot more put into it. You get what you pay for. IMHO the sheath of a neck knife should have a released button, Spyderco was able to do that very ergonomically. The one upside that the buck knife had over this one, was it's symmetrical sheath, so you have to be cognitive as to which orientation you put this knife back. Not unusual for a knife, but something I missed from my old one. That being said, the asymmetrical shape and width of this blade makes it a much more formidable defense tool. Not my number one intent for this knife, but it's a nice to have. As far as I can tell, this steel is impervious to rust. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a neck knife. I'm of medium build, and I don't find this too cumbersome to wear.Read full review
