I had an old ABU Garcia Ambassador 7000 C with the old really small handle. The power handle I ordered was a perfect upgrade for the type of fishing I do. It took a little filing to get the handle to fit into my model, but after a little work, it fit perfectly. I just used the reel last weekend on a two day tarpon fishing trip, and it was really comfortable casting all day long. The new handle was more like my modern reels, and it worked great on several large sharks, and jacks, and one tarpon for a couple of jumps.

Bought these for all of my Abu Garcia 6601-C4's & 6501C-3s (8) total. I use them for musky here in Pa. what a difference they make reeling those big lures in for hours on end. One down fall, the keeper washer & nut doesn't fit that they send you. You have to use the original.

My ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6500 is a great reel and does an excellent job on summer flounder, black sea bass, and striped bass. My only complaint with this reel was that the original handle was too small. The new power handle was easy to install and provides a distinctly different feel to reeling. The new handle is larger, feels better, and imparts greater leverage than the original handle.
