  • Decent Scope for the Price

Decent scope for the price I paid. These used to be sold at Wal-Mart (among other places) for around $75’ish, and I got it for less than $50 taxes and shipping included. I got this for a small rim-fire platform I built, and for that it is just fine. PROS: It’s built solid and the turrets and magnification lever have smooth yet definitive adjustment detents. I have an affinity for the dot-in-circle reticle, so that’s a positive for me. The reticle can also be illuminated red or green in five levels of brightness. The illumination control is also tight yet smooth and seems of nice quality. The included mount is top-notch; by itself these types of mounts usually cost more than this whole combo did. CONS: It has a tight eye-box and some spherical aberration, both of which are aggravated by increased magnification. As long as you keep the mag at no more than about 2.5 it’s manageable. On a .22 zeroed at 50 meters and shooting no further than 100 meters that’s sufficient. I wouldn’t use this on an AR platform personally, but others have with success. SUMMARY: It’s 50% as good as one of my Vortex LPVO’s, but only 20% the cost.

  • Decent scope for the money

This is the first of this type of scope I have owned. It has a low axis, but is clear and crisp. 1 magnification is closer to 1.5 and there is a minimum parallax at close range but not enough to make you miss the target. This is a fast acquisition scope (CQB) style and should be thought of and used this way. It is adequate and useful out to about 150 yards, however this is not a long range sniper style scope.I do like it and will buy more as needed.

  • Lightweight scope that does what it is advertised to do.

A decent scope for the price. I put it on a .22. Very light weight. I think the circle/dot reticle works better at closer ranges where no hold over is required, but that's just my opinion. It holds zero. The included mount is a real bonus. It comes with see-through end caps. No tools are required for adjusting windage and elevation. The illuminated circle/dot has several levels of brightness in red and green and is bright enough for all but the brightest locations. The reticle is still very visibler when the illumination is turned off. As with all scopes, loctite all fasteners and you shouldn't have any problems.

  • Yes you should buy one.

I have several of these (this model) Center Points now. I have put them on 5 or 6 different AR's (5.56, 7.62 x 39, 9mm and .45 PCC's) that I use for local competition shoots. After I bought the first one from a retailer locally, I couldn't get it again. They stopped carrying it. Was able to find them here on ebay at different times, but the price had gone up. Finally, they started coming in around $60 - $70.00 again with more frequency. I am not a huge fan of Center Point, even for air rifles. I have blown out more than a few on everything from air guns to 5.56. Having said that, I now own a total of 6 of these. All hold zero, have good clairity and hold up well under weather and stress. They haven't failed me yet and I really like the etched glass design and the ability to use it with or without the illumination. I would recommend it and I will use them in the future on similar AR builds.

  • Barely Adequate

The 1x is closer to 1.5. Optics are blurry at the edges. Eye relief is poor and varies depending on magnification. There are better scopes out there, even in this price range.
