If the price is too good to be true...
This product was a knockoff. The fragrance wasn't quite the same as I remember and the letters wiped off the bottle after a couple uses. I used an online batch code checker and the code was from February 2012. So even if it was the real deal (I doubt it), it is 8 years old (5 years past expiration). Spend the extra $$$, get the real thing. I didn't return it because I don't want to pay return shipping.

Once upon a time it was BEAUTIFUL but then....
... something happened sometime between the very late 90s and now. I use to wear this in the early and mid 90s and it was truly gorgeous like my other favorite “Design”, which also for whatever reason changed! I started experimenting and wearing different scents and I found a bottle of Beautiful in Macy’s a few years back. Upon first spraying it, I instantly noticed that something was off but didn’t give it much thought. I figured it had just been many years and maybe I was surrounded by other fragrances the diluted my senses. However I purchased it anyway and tried it again he following day, day after day. I was right in that something was not the same! I even called my old friend in occasionally her together with every few years who wore it back then with me, I thought maybe my body chemistry had changed or something. But sadly she put it on and also agreed instantly the scent was not the same as it once was. The same thing in the case with the scent “Design” by Paul Sebastian. At first they both smell similar to what I remember but clearly the gorgeous scent of both these rare and exotic scents have been remanufactured and no longer is anything near as wonderful as hey once both were. It is sad but very true. Both these scents used to last for days with just a small spray and they even smelled better with time. They would make me feel so pretty just smelling it on myself or whenever I bumped into a stranger who I recognized it on. I can honestly say I don’t recall the last time I smelled it on anyone else and recognized either scent. I guarantee, yes guarantee that these fragrances (as I’m sure there are others) that have changed at one point and it’s so very sad. I have searched and even purchased older bottles I found at yardsales or through eBay, etc from the early 90s era and although I am sure those ARE the original bottles which at one time smelled incredible, with time they seemed to tarnish and smell tainted. I asked an expert on fragrances while I was temporarily living in Prague between 2013-2016 if even high end, expensive fragrances can turn “stale” over years and he said absolutely because they are made with natural extracts and oils so yes (in regards to the older finds I was initially excited to come by from the early years before the fragrances arrived smelling stale). For a moment I was excited to be enticed by those wonderful smells but sadly time had taken its toll. Just Incase anyone was wondering to try to track down an older “original” to compare, I hate to upset everyone. Bottom line is Beautiful by Estée Lauder along with Design by Paul Sebastian has changed despite people who claim how much they love it on the reviews, they have no idea how it smelled originally)aside from the few others who also make note of the exact same issue. The long time users (25+ years) can tell! I miss the originals. Thus is why I left 2 stars. One star for each original that is extinct! Read full review

Lives Up to Its Name
This is such a great perfume. It is classy and long lasting...making the wearer feel as beautiful as its name. Even in the years I worked in Afghanistan in a very rough environments, I would get so many compliments on my perfume...from engineers and soldiers, as well as the Afghans with whom I worked. If Beautiful could stand out as something special there, imagine how well it will work for you. Oh, and it's a great value, too.
