  • Great Product!

Typical Redding quality! Great product, you don't necessarily have to turn your cases as long as you sort them by how thick or out of round they are; i.e. .001, or .002. When you do you will find your groups shrinking and your satisfaction going up. Some say that you do not need this product if you already have the Hornady bullet straightener; I found this to not be true because the case alone does not properly align to the horizontal axis. Additionally, some complain that you have to mount this gauge on a piece of 1x4 or 2x4. I personally just place the base of this gauge on my chest (while sitting watching TV in my recliner) and check the case neck just fine. This product also helps the reloader find those cases that need the primer flash hole widened, because if the flash hole is not big enough, it won't fit on this gauge's spindle. A few items to note: you should expand the case neck (I utilize a Sinclair neck expander) prior to taking any case neck measurements; this also preps your case for neck turning and/or bullet seating. A neck expander is a good investment even if you don't inspect neck wall thickness, it aids in seating bullets, especially flat based bullets during the reloading process. This product is great and I highly recommend for anyone who desires smaller groups! Hope this helps.

  • Very efficient.

much easier to use than a ball micrometer especially when working with larger volumes of casings.

  • Redding Case Gage

This unit measures case neck uniformity very accurate. If neck is out of being uniform then probably the whole case is.
