A Total Waste of Money.
This "Eraser" is a total waste of money. You may just as well use a pencil eraser. The only rust it will remove is light patina. Any rust thicker than that will do more damage to the eraser than to the rust. Only very light tarnish and surface stain, of any kind, show any change after using it. I collect knives, and thought the Super SR0101 Knife ERASER would be a tremendous asset if it performed as advertised. It did not. I chose 3 old knives with varying amounts of "rust, tarnish and blemishes", to try it on. None showed any appreciable change after using the Eraser. This item was purchased to remove rust from the razors that I buy to add to my collection . The block works wonders on the steel and also does a bang-up job on the fine grit stones to put an edge on the razors ! Two for one, I really get behind that ! Handy to have to Tackle Lite Rust.
Very useful on metal, to take off lite spot's, speck's & blemishes. I use these on my knife's that need to be cleaned up a bit. Just don't get to rough with these on high end knife's, these are made for lite work, but they can handle a bit of nasty rust, they just don't last as long. Abrasive on the Surface Only
Not sure this is the real deal. I've been using rust erasers for years, and they all had the hard, abrasive particle distributed throughout the block, not just on the surface. This product is only abrasive on the surface, as you can tell by looking at the cut ends. I have not tried it yet, so I'm not sure how it will work.
