The only tool you need is a screwdriver. EASY INSTALLATION: Replacing the flap is a quick and easy do-it-yourself project; the only tool you need is a screwdriver. Item Weight: 8 ounces.
I ordered this product as a replacement for the original doggy door flap when the magnetic strip wore off the bottom after 8 months of use. This replacement product began to wear on the edges after a couple days. The entire strip was gone after only 10 days of normal use. Am being told it is a factory issue since 14 days have passed since purchase. Maybe I just got a bad one, but I do not recommend this product due to it's poor quality.
Although this was a genuine petsafe door it was a half inch too long so it had to be cut which is not something that should have to be done after paying 30 bucks for a piece of rubber or whatever is made out of. Also the magnet on the bottom seems a lot weaker than the original, pretty disappointing but had to keep it and use it since the old one was ready to be replaced.
I tried to post this on Pet Safe site but they wouldn’t allow my honest view .
The door isn’t air tight nor bug tight .I complained and they sent me a new flap after playing with it for several days and several trips to Ace Hardware it ok but still
Not to what Inhad hopes for .
To be honest the one I had made myself worked better than this expensive item .
